Global Agriculture Market Development Manager

About the role

We own and operate open pit and underground mines, mills, refineries, smelters, power stations, and research and service facilities. And we use our railways, ports and ships to deliver our products to our customers. This position leads the global market, field crop studies and technical development to grow elements of our industrial minerals business in all agriculture sectors. The person in this role will position the Company for future growth through the identification of key global and regional trends, and designing technical and marketing programs to meet the industry needs. The position manages the budget for development of products and works in close collaboration with regional sales teams and our customers, development partners, marketing, senior management, technical staff and production facilities. It has a key role in developing and implementing market promotion materials and ensuring attendance at key agriculture conferences. The position provides support in developing the skills of the global agriculture sales and technical marketing teams.

Working within the Sales and Marketing Team and reporting to the Manager Market Dev and Digital Marketing, you will be :

· Develop and implement a global agriculture market development strategy to position and resource the business to meet current and future market needs around the globe. Will need to implement and influence without direct line management.

· Per the strategy, effectively manage the field research studies in different regions and ensure use of results across all target markets, based on soil and crop types.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external development partners in the agriculture sectors to deliver commercial objectives.

· Prepare all marketing and technical communication materials for agriculture, including modernization of existing materials, and develop and ensure effective use of digital platforms.

· Develop and implement a plan for participation at key agriculture conferences, including presentations, content and messaging.

· Manage the agriculture development projects, budgets and growth targets ensuring milestones are delivered.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

· Minimum of Bachelors degree in science, marketing, business or industry related field. Advanced science (MS or PhD) or MBA is beneficial.

· 10+ years experience in technical or market development roles in a fertilizer company, with 3+ years of managing people preferred.

· 5+ years experience within in-house private organizations or consulting firms in one or more of the following areas:
    • Strategy development and execution
    • Agriculture development
    • Industrial minerals
    • Several years of successfully leading product or market development activity

o Project management

· Demonstrated experience with global market development in agriculture in regions such as South America, Africa, India, and China

· Demonstrated ability to conduct business analysis, financial modelling or techno-economic evaluation of industrial processes
  • Ability to gather data from inside and outside sources and to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills

· Fluent in English
