Summary
The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams serving mining, fuels, power, and municipal clients. This person must be experienced in civil engineering design and analysis, including site layout, grading and drainage, and mass earthwork. Technical assignments may include design with CADD modeling software, preparation of construction plans and specifications, spreadsheet preparation, site development design, report writing, large-report preparation, construction cost estimating, construction observation, and facility inspection. Responsibilities may also involve working with permitting agencies and public officials.
The person in this position will also perform a strategic leadership role with administrative responsibilities including business development, project management, project planning, and scheduling. This person will also serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers, helping grow civil engineering expertise and project management skills by reviewing technical reports and providing guidance on operations-related tasks. Work may require short-term, out-of-town assignments.

Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 10 or more years of related work experience
- Professional engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
- Proven project management experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and computer simulation modeling
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative
- Flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- Acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 years of relevant work experience
- Experience working in consulting engineering
- Strong relationships with clients and the ability to develop or foster ongoing relationships and maintain a high level of client service
