Reporting to the Senior Systems Coordinator, the Temporary Systems Technician Intern - Entry position is responsible for providing end-to-end delivery and support of computer systems, telephones and peripherals. The candidate is responsible for receiving and responding to computer, printer, telephone and software related incidents and requests. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, imaging, maintenance and repair of computer hardware, telephones and peripherals. The candidate must understand and be comfortable with installing software applications.

Responsiblities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules & procedures
• Accept and respond to incidents and requests assigned by the internal helpdesk system
• Deliver and support IT systems in support of business objectives
• Documenting and managing of all hardware and software assets in a configuration management database (CMDB)
• Installation, commissioning and maintenance of workstations, laptops, tablets, printers and telephones
• Set up workstations with necessary peripheral devices (monitors, speakers, printers)
• Telephone deployment, registration and maintenance
• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboard, etc.) to ensure functionality
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging)
• Install and configure operating systems and software according to specifications
• Organize and schedule hardware and software upgrades / maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Maintain records of repairs, fixes and maintenance schedules
• Ensure security and privacy of computer systems
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
• Identify computer equipment shortages and compile stock order lists
• General housekeeping of data rooms and wiring closets
• Create, delete and manage WiFi and Morale network accounts
• Ensure conference / meeting rooms are maintained and in working order
• Registration of tablets and mobile devices in the Corporate Mobile Device Management (MDM)
• Scheduling and execution of backup tape rotations
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current College student working towards a degree in Computer Science or related field
• Basic software application and hardware knowledge is required
• Highly motivated individual that is able to work independently to achieve the desired outcomes
• Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose a problem and ensure that it gets fixed in a timely fashion
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills; a team player
