This role's key accountabilities in line with the organisation's strategic targets and objectives, are listed below and will change from time to time to suit business needs.

Wind Energy Projects
  • Support the Manager Renewable Energy Engineering Services in engineering tasks related to development, construction and operation of FFI Wind Energy Projects.
  • Conduct, support and document engineering analysis, project design work, performance assessments and energy generation / resource forecasts in accordance with internal standards and best industry practice.
  • Provide technical expertise on wind turbine generator technology and keep abreast of latest trends and future developments.
  • Support coordination of external consultants and internal business functions working on various aspects of wind energy projects on behalf of FFI

Solar PV Energy Projects
  • Support the Principal Solar PV Engineer in engineering tasks related to development, construction and operation of FFI Solar PV Energy Projects.
  • Prepare, conduct, document and oversee climate monitoring campaigns, climate data quality collection and analysis and manage relevant service provider.
  • Undertake and document resource analysis, project design and solar PV project energy generation / resource forecasts in accordance with best industry practice.

General
  • Support ongoing improvement of FFI internal wind and solar PV energy project standards and procedures in relation to all relevant aspects of the development, construction and operation.
  • Provide value-adding engineering support to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare, procure, document and oversee climate monitoring campaigns, data collection and quality analysis and manage on demand relevant service provider.
  • Actively initiate and support plant design and construction process improvement in liaise with the relevant business functions and departments.
  • Develop relationships with and regularly liaise with consultants, service provider and equipment manufacturers.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Tertiary Engineering Qualification (preferred Renewable Energy, Energy or Electrical)
  • Good knowledge of appropriate wind and solar PV engineering software and best industry practise
  • Knowledge of big data management and data analysis principles
  • Experience operating in an environment where there are tight timeframes.
