This position requires a safety minded individual with strong drive and enthusiasm to fulfill minimum requirements of survey work at a surface mine.

The surveyor / survey techician will be expected to provide daily as-built information for the Engineering Department. The surveyor technician will be expected to adequately translate design data into field control.

Specific Duties:

Demonstrate knowledge of ability to read and interpret a map including concepts of scale and coordinate.

Demonstrate understanding of computer network system, including location of printers and plotters.

Demonstrate knowledge of stock required to perform survey tasks.

Use of: Plumb bob, rag tape, pocket tape, tribrach

Demonstrate basic knowledge of operation GPS system. - Power of GPS Base Station - Power of Receiver and Collector - Communication (Bluetooth) between Receiver and Collector - Creation of job(s) on Collector - Location of site base station

Knowledge of radio Communication between rover and base

Recognition of design files on Collector

Ability to stake design files on Collector

Recognition of elevation and grade - Able to stake 10% ramp

Troubleshoot base, rover, radio problems

Blast hole sample delivery

Utilize GPS technology for as built surveys - Toe Advances (pit) - Lech pad crest advance - Road and ramp surveys

Utilize GPS technology to translate design to field

Knowledge of bench design elevations

Ability to utilize ramp design for purpose grade

Able to utilize provided software to transfer data from GPS to network location

Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems

Ability to prepare accurate records and reports

Ability to work well within a team environment

Working knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Regulations

Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, Database applications

Possess a technical degree in surveying or 5 years verifiable experience in mine industry preferred

Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in open pit, hard rock mining and/or with Arizona environmental regulations

Familiarity with State and Federal environmental agencies, environmental monitoring, and compliance reporting

Excellent environmental awareness and leadership

Ability to operate a light vehicle and/or off-road all-terrain vehicle.

MSHA 5000-23 to include new hire and task training

Criteria/Conditions:

•While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stair and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.

•May be required to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.

•The work is in an outdoor mine setting which requires hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required by law.

•This work is in a mine and plant setting which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.

•Personal protective equipment is required when performing this position.

•Successfully complete background check and maintain a valid USA driver's license.
