Primary Purpose
Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for providing support to mine operations in an active open pit coal mine.

Responsibilities
- Operate Komatsu 830E, Komatsu 1500, Cat 785, Cat 789 and Cat 793 haul trucks to transport overburden, waste rock and coal from the mine.
- Operate tracked Cat D8, D10 and D11 dozers to efficiently manage dumps, move coal and perform other tasks as required.
- Operate Cat 14H, 16H, 16M and 24M graders to level and maintain mine haul roads.
- Operate CAT 325, 365, 385, 390, Hitachi 1200 and Komatsu 2000 excavators to safely and efficiently load haul trucks.
- Operate Hitachi 8000, 5500, 3600, Komatsu 4000 & LeTourneau 1350 shovels to safely and efficiently load haul trucks.
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, perform pre-trip checks and complete FLHA's on a regular basis.
- Ensure adherence to Conuma's workplace policies and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a high level of Environmental and Health and Safety performance; identify and report risks, near misses and incidents with the goal of supporting and developing Conuma's excellent safety standards
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 Years' Operating Heavy Equipment within the Mining Industry
- Completion of Grade 12
- Valid Driver's License
Skills and Abilities
- First Aid/Mine Rescue Training is Considered an Asset
- Physically Fit with the Ability to Perform Physical Labor
- Strong Communication Skills
- Willingness to Learn
- Safety Focused
- Positive Attitude
- Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 7x7 rotation.
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and excellent attendance record.

- Employee bus transportation is provided from Tumbler Ridge (Wolverine), Chetwynd (Brule and Willow Creek) and Mackenzie (Willow Creek), BC.
