Exploration Geologist

Musselwhite Mine

Purpose

Musselwhite Mine is currently seeking an energetic Exploration Geologist to join our team on contract. Reporting directly to the Geology Supervisor, the successful candidate will have a high focus on safety and environmental protection in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute underground and surface diamond drill programs
  • Log core and make recommendations for further drilling based upon previous work
  • Interpretation of drill sections, aid in the development of the geological model
  • Assist in the implementation and development of the Exploration strategy


Requirements

  • 4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology or equivalent
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in exploration or development projects
  • Registration as a professional geologist, or eligibility for registration required
  • Knowledge of Vulcan and Acquire software an asset
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening, presentation)
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 35 kg
  • Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
  • Strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment an asset


Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is14 on, 14 days off, working 12-hour days.
