Position summary
Downer Rail and Transit Systems is committed to providing the highest quality of Rolling Stock & Overhaul services for both the local QLD and greater Australian markets. Our Quality Assurance Officers will work in a team environment to ensure quality standards are met within project time frames.

Role requirements:
  • Trade background - welding
  • Experienced in weld Inspection/Supervision
  • Interpret and apply specific compliance criteria to inspection activities
  • Carry out dimensional checking of components against technical drawings
  • Complete Quality Control records to verify component compliance
  • Perform in-process inspections and production audits
  • Identify product non-conformance and raise non-conformance reports
  • Determine corrective and preventative actions to close out non-conformance reports
  • Liaise with key external and internal stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues
  • Monitoring adherence to procedures at Workshop Level
  • Provide QA information via notice boards, toolbox talks and team meetings
  • Assist the Quality Manager to perform internal quality audits
  • Review the adequacy of production ITP's, work instructions and check sheets
  • Assist in gathering and compiling document deliverables into MDR/Acceptance Books
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Windows standard programs
  • Foster the implementation of learnings and continuous improvement activities
  • Work unsupervised within a team environment.
