Gold Fields - Agnew is currently seeking a n Engineer: Production to join their Mining Department.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Production, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations. In compliance with site Environmental and Safety Standards, you will be responsible for all mining aspects including the development and implementation of production plans in line with short to medium term planning targets.
This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

Key responsibilities include:
- Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times
- The development and implementation of short-te rm schedules, ensuring they are in line with the operational targets of the monthly and quarterly production plans
- Design of stopes and subsequent drill and blast plans to maintain minimal dilution and maximum recovery
- Ensure business success by developing, implementing and recording mine information to ensure safe and economic target delivery
- Reconciliation of mined plan versus actual to identify improvement areas
- Interact with all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication
- Actively identifying risks and threats to safely achieving targets and develop, establish and manage programs to ensure risk elimination/minimisation
- Apprising the Senior Engineer of issues that may affect safe and efficient production through frequent communication in an appropriate manner
- Enhancing the capability of the business to achieve improved performance and growth by actively contributing to business and cultural improvement initiatives, encouraging team members to participate and identify barriers to goal achievement
- Undertake additional / alternative responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Senior Engineer: Production
- Facilitating the Lean and Short-interval control meetings
- Departmental data management
Factors to your success include;
- Qualifications in Mining Engineering
- Underground engineering experience, with exposure to all production phases, preferably gold.
- Completion of underground time
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or ability to obtain is desirable
- Exposure to contract mining environments
- Experience using Microsoft office and mining software such as Deswik
- Current WA Dangerous Goods Card
- Valid Manual Driver's License
