Company is looking for an Underground Surveyor to join the Colorado Mine Engineering Team.

Purpose of the Position

The Underground Surveyor is responsible for providing survey support to mine operations and other groups as required.

Accountability

The Underground Surveyor reports to the Chief Mining Engineer in all aspects of engineering operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform underground surveying, including but not limited to:

Long hole stope ring layout
Layout geology drill holes for exploration drilling
Survey raises
Shaft surveying
CMS surveys, creation, and volumes
Survey surface stockpiles

Using engineering designs to guide mining activities. (Line and Grade)
Utilize equipment, such as a total station and scanners to generate accurate surveys
Daily mining advance surveys and survey control establishment
Assist in preparation of mine maps for miners and engineering
Ability to survey alone and unsupervised
Complete daily mine production reports

Health and Safety

Ensure that all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines are followed.
Support the site safety culture through leadership and regularly engaging with and holding the workforce accountable for safe work practices.
Participate in health and safety meetings and risk reviews as required.

Knowledge/Education

Excellent safety record
Minimum of five (5) years' experience surveying underground, preferred
Solid knowledge and experience of surveying fundamentals, calculations, and note-taking techniques
Strong computer skills and ability to analyze technical data
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD with Promine and Trimble Total Station survey equipment, any of the Void scanner, , preferred
Willing and able to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

Physical and Mental Demands and Requirements

The Underground Surveyor will work primarily underground with daily office work. The incumbent must be able to:

Possess a valid driver s license
Work Underground
Work independently on a rotating shift
Climb stairwells and be capable of working on elevated platforms
Lift and carry up to 75 lbs. in weight up and down 15% grades
Periodically work in adverse weather conditions
Sit or stand for extended periods of time
Stay alert during periods of inactivity
Walk on uneven ground

Hourly Wage: $30 - $40
