Underground Mine Manager Position Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Underground Mine Manager is responsible for contributing to a proactive safety culture through active engagement in safety initiatives and interactions. This role is also responsible for the overall management of mining operations to ensure safe and profitable production. This role is responsible for leading the performance of owner and contractor mine operators in alignment with company policies, business objectives and company culture .

Responsibilities:

•Ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental policies and governmental regulations by driving a culture of safe work performance for both the owner and contractor organizations

•Ensures good working relationships with agencies involved in operations such as MSHA and the State of Colorado

•Establishes and oversees efficient use of exploration budget to develop resources and reserves, optimize the mine planning and provide opportunities for future expansion

•Ensures production targets are communicated and achieved through visible leadership of work teams and establishes tracking tools and reports for key performance indicators

•Manages the performance of the Mining Crews

•Oversees the traceability of ore from geologic model to mine and to mill. Ensures procedures are adequate and followed consistently

•Oversees short and long-term planning for operations

•Develops, designs, budgets, and follows through on all the capital improvements associated with mining operations

•Seek opportunities to enhance business performance through improvements in cost, quality and increased gold production

•Provide leadership, development and direction to mine staff

•Actively engaged in identifying and advancing growth opportunities for the business

•Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or related field preferred

•Five (5) or more years of experience in mine management in progressive supervisory roles with experience in underground narrow vein mining

•Strong ability to drive positive safety culture throughout organization required

•Familiarity with MSHA and Colorado State regulations

•Experience with mine planning, mapping and 3D modelling, Vulcan, Auto-CAD and MS Suite a plus

•Ability to communicate well in both oral and written formats

•Strong ability to lead and influence others by employing effective leadership techniques

Base compensation will be $120k + incentives depending on experience
