We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers.

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a self-motivated and safety first, General Foreman for our Open Pit Mine Operations team. Reporting to the Manager Mining you will ensure the safe delivery of the mining plan through effective people management, delivering productivity and efficiency targets and optimising mine plans. You will be a leader that is passionate about people, their safety and encourage your crews to strive for Best Practice Mining safety behaviours and standards. Additional responsibilities for the role will include:
  • Provide leadership for the front-line supervisors and work groups including coaching and mentoring
  • Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) against plans, with a focus on variance analysis and prompt action response
  • Implement and sustain world best practice mining standards that meet or exceed the jurisdictional mining legislation
  • In conjunction with the technical services function develop safe and efficient mine plans on the daily, weekly, and monthly planning horizons
  • Assist in contract management through executional oversight of the drill and blast business partners
  • Bring focus to improvement initiatives to either deliver on existing targets or provide uplift potential
  • Build effective working relationships with all departments and stakeholders through direct engagement, open and honest communication

The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills. Be Open and honest with the ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback. You will have a minimum of 12 years production and development experience across all aspects of Open Pit mining with at least 5 plus years Supervisory experience.
  • A proven track record of promoting and sustaining a successful safety culture is preferred
  • A Mine Supervisor Certificate is essential
  • Cold weather experienced is preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
