Assayer OVERVIEW Alexco Resource Corp. owns the majority of the historic high-grade Keno Hill Silver District located in
Canada’s Yukon Territory. With nearly 1,000 meters of underground development completed at our two
new deposits and a robust Pre-Feasibility Study released, Alexco is advanced towards production in
Q4 2020. This is a great opportunity to be part of the team that is building one of the highest-grade silver
operations in the world.
We are looking for an Assayer who will play a support role within the Keno Hill Mine and Mill team.
The role offers responsibility and autonomy so you must be highly organized. Reporting into the Chief
Metallurgist you will be responsible for:
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Dedication to safety, equipment care, and the environment;
• Sample Preparation of Mill and Mine samples;
• Instrumental Analysis of samples thru AA, XRF;
• Daily data review, QC checks and reporting;
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment;
• Monitor consumables and supplies and liaise with the Chief Metallurgist or designate to ensure that correct stock levels are maintained;
• Provide direction and guidance for 1 sample bucker.
QUALIFICAITONS
• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related discipline with an emphasis in Analytical Chemistry or 10 years of assay lab experience working with base metals;
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license;
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 20kg;
• Possess strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills;
• Mining industry experience an asset;
• Chemical laboratory experience an asset;
