Mobile Maintenance Supervisor OVERVIEW
Alexco Resource Corp. owns the majority of the historic high-grade Keno Hill Silver District located in Canada’s Yukon Territory.
With underground development approaching ore zones at our two new deposits, a mill processing high grade ore from our historic
Bellekeno mine, Alexco is advancing the district towards full production in Q3 2021. This is a great opportunity to be part of the
team that is operating one of the highest-grade silver operations in the world.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, we are looking for an individual that will be accountable for efficiently coordinating trades,
scheduling, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and staffing to ensure company standards are maintained in the Mobile
Maintenance group. This role supports the Mine Operation and Site Services departments by providing a reliable fleet of
Underground and Surface Heavy mobile equipment. The role is also responsible for maintaining Alexco’s light vehicle fleet. The
candidate will possess strong organizational and planning skills and be able to work well in a team environment.
This will be a 14 day on / 14 day off rotational position at our Keno Hill Project in Elsa, Yukon.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate mobile maintenance activities in conjunction with the operational requirements in a cost effective, safe, and
environmentally responsible manner;
• Review departmental and companywide safety incidents daily; and conduct reviews with crews as required;
• Assign daily job tasks to maintenance and contract personnel;
• Conduct performance assessments of maintenance personnel;
• Ensure daily availability and utilization data is entered in a timely fashion and available in a dashboard format for review;
• Track monthly cost/labour metrics on all prime pieces of mobile equipment and suggest continuous improvement plans to
lower operating costs;
• In conjunction with the Mine Operations, Site Services and Planners, coordinate planning, scheduling and generation of
mobile maintenance work orders;
• Generate, update, audit and adhere to all PM programs;
• Responsible for the efficient operation of the entire department.
REQUIREMENTS
• Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal certification is required;
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of varied maintenance experience within the mining industry, or, an equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience in similar heavy industrial sites is required;
• Minimum 2 years of Supervisory experience is required;
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong computer skills including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and other CMMS software applications;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and suppliers;
• Strong working knowledge of various maintenance planning programs;
• Must be able to Maintain Valid Driver’s Licence.
