About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician for executing preventative and routine maintenance tasks at Resolution Copper. The role also provides support to our work order and materials management systems, which is critical to mine operation.

This is a day shift role, however some weekend and out-of-hours works may be required.

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:

· Executing maintenance, operation and project preventative and routing mechanical tasks

· Managing safety for all activities, tasks and projects based on assessed hazards, identified critical risks and mitigating actions.

· Participate in major maintenance activities on critical assets

· Executing planned and unplanned tasks.

· Documenting compliance checks (e.g. MSHA).

· Reporting and raising notifications for equipment not operating/functioning as designed.

About you

To be successfully considered in this role, you will have:

· High School Diploma or equivalent experience

· 6 months previous maintenance technician experience

· Experience with fixed plant heavy industry or mining equipment.

· Fit to regularly lift and move objects
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations

It will also be beneficial if you have:

· Practical knowledge of mechanical, air, hydraulic, refrigeration systems

· Trained in (or eligible for) confined space, working at heights, forklift, and elevated work platform.

Where you will be working

As part of Rio Tinto's Copper product group; Copper Projects manages the planning, development and technological aspects of major global copper projects. The group collaborates with the Rio Tinto Technology and Innovation group to focus on applications of innovative technologies including block caving, automation, flash converter smelting and sulphide leaching. With exploration indicating one of the largest copper resources ever found in North America, and possibly worldwide; the Resolution Project stands to be a premier copper mine. Located three miles east of Superior, Arizona, the copper ore will be mined using panel caving - a subset of block caving.
