Provide effective leadership, and direction for mechanical commissioning personnel to ensure a safe and timely testing of the plant/village areas.
The commissioning mechanical team includes superintendent, supervisors, mechanical trades (fitters, pipefitters, boilermakers, plumbers, riggers) from the Owner’s and Contractor’s organisations, as well as various specialists and vendor representatives.
Ensuring that all mechanical regulatory bodies, site, government, safety, health and environmental procedures and standards are followed by Commissioning personnel.
Reviewing the mechanical & process elements from final construction through WTG process and attainment of CVC including workmanship, documentation from Contractors.
Position required competencies and skills:
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
• Attention to detail
• Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally
• Ability to work under pressure
• Mobility, fitness and ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on continuous improvement
• Ability to assess working conditions and environment
Position required qualifications:
• Appropriate technical qualifications and experience as described above
• More than 5 year’s experience of mechanical supervision.
• Experience with pre-commissioning and commissioning of new equipment circuits and plants.
• Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with mechanical works and inspections.
• Demonstrated competency with office computer software packages.
Position desired experience, competencies and qualifications:
• Prior experience in the start-up phase of a similar mining village or project would be an asset.
• Prior experience using completion management software
• A good multi-disciplinary knowledge
• A knowledge of PLC/Control Systems
