Downer Automation is the Industrial EICA part of Downer New Zealand. We are in the growth phase of building capacity and capability across Electrical, Instrumentation and Control aspects of the industrial environment starting in the Construction and Utilities sectors. This team has been built on being New Zealand's largest provider of on-road technology services and a recognised industry leader and we are using this base to grow. A fantastic new opportunity has arisen in our Automation & Water North Island team based in Auckland for a focused and determined individual who wishes to develop their career as an Automation Electrician.

A bit about your role;

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be a key part of the electrical team in Auckland to deliver outstanding quality, service and performance to our clients in all areas of the Downer business. This is a wide-ranging role and some of your key responsibilities would include:

• EICA maintenance and project work on; Water and IOT assets
• Servicing, proactive and reactive maintenance of a huge range of Automation and electrical assets in disciplines and may include electrical testing, fault finding, SCADA, PLC's, telemetry and RTU's, networking, camera's and IOT assets
• Growth of the team and influencing customers.

A bit about you;

You will be a proactive and outcomes-focused Automation Electrician and will bring with you;

• National Certificate in Electrical Engineering - Electrician for Registration. Must be a New Zealand registered Electrician and have a current Electricians practising license with the EWRB.
• Industrial Electrician with Water, Power or other utilities experience
• Extensive experience in Maintenance activities and fault finding with some experience of remedial and project works.
• Ability to be self-managed with a strong attention to detail
• Preferred to have Automation experience with either Rockwell or Schneider industrial PLC's and SCADA.
• Solid computer skills and exposure to a wide variety of computer applications
• A current full Class 1 drivers licence

The successful candidate will be expected to work on an on-call roster and the occasional requirement to travel and stay away from home.
