Description

Under limited supervision, collect, research, analyze and maintain Health and Safety management systems for site. Present/report finding to management.
  • Manage safety data, develop audit procedures and build custom multi-universe queries utilizing Business Object (IMS/SAP), Fatal Risk Management, safety hours and other data sources
  • Responsible for data integrity including the accuracy and timeliness for internal and external reporting needs.
  • Analyze data, identify trends and develop management reports using MS Excel pivot tables (macros), Power BI and other analytical software.
  • Interpret analytical results, providing a format that is actionable, measurable and provides value to the organization.
  • Work closely with multiple business units to develop and deliver analysis of data and recommend actions. Provide visibility and follow up with business units on the completion of the identified actions.
  • Work with senior safety staff to provide actionable data to area leadership and attend field observation to verify and support actions being triggered.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area (or equivalent experience) and two (2) years experience within manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Knowledge of standard safety metrics and familiarity with regulatory aspects of each
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • High level of proficiency in manipulating data using Excel and other data tools
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Skill in successfully completing delegated projects of some complexity
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to use computers and MS Office software including word processing and database software
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards


Preferred Qualifications
  • Safety Experience
  • Experience in database/reporting software, creation, and management (Power BI, Business Objects, etc)
  • Experience in MS Office Suite
  • Experience in Data Analysis methodologies
