Reporting to the Health and Safety Supervisor, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of site safety programs. This position will be dedicated to being a resource for Fording River Operations Processing and Projects groups focused on ensuring Health and Safety of employees and contractors.

Someone who is self-motivated, possesses strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, who possesses a passion for continuous improvement. This role requires a high level of integrity and an ability to know your audience while working effectively with stakeholders on safety initiatives and programs thus presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are vital.

Responsibilities :

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Apply continuous improvement processes and systems to improve health and safety performance
• Advise, coach, and lead the workforce to ensure proper high potential risk controls are implemented, and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements are fulfilled
• Coordinate and administer the following safety systems and programs: SiteLine EHS Tracking System, internal and external site tours, audits, inspections, contractor management, and high potential risk control strategy
• Support the site with technical safety training for Confined Space Entry, Gas Detection, and Work at Heights
• Perform general safety-related duties as needed and be accountable for results obtained

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Occupational First Aid Level 3
• Class 5 driver’s license
• Experience with Microsoft Office®, especially Excel
• Experience in practical and theoretical safety and loss control an asset
• MEM BC mine rescue certification an asset
