Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario.  The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.3 Billion investment over the four-year engineering, procurement and construction phase, with an estimated 15-year operating life.

Procurement Lead

Reporting to the Operation Manager, the Procurement Lead will be responsible for developing and carrying out procurement best practices in conjunction with GGM’s procurement policies and goals of procuring goods and services competitively in a timely manner while respecting our core values. Also, managing the purchase of natural gas to secure a stable and competitively priced supply for the combined waste heat and power plant.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Lead and direct the procurement and warehouse team in a safe and responsible manner
• Meet the requirements of our internal customers in accordance with established warehousing and procurement goals
• Understand the natural gas market and develop and execute a natural gas sourcing & purchasing strategy
• Assure availability of goods and services through a well thought out and executed procurement sourcing plans
• Oversee vendor management process through the life of the contract, ensuring compliance and performance
• Oversee the administration and expediting functions for all equipment and material supply contracts
• Proactively identify risks and develop contingency plans to address potential supply disruptions
• Procure goods and services competitively by obtaining supplier market information and applying competitive bid processes
• Negotiate product supply and service agreements that best meet the needs of the operation in relation to price, quality, service, and availability
• Ensure competitive bidding and contract development activities are conducted in an ethical and legal manner, and in compliance with all company policies

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Build working relationships through respect and integrity, open communication, teamwork, negotiation, influence and relationship management.  Ability to develop good and effective vendor relations
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills
• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail with strong analytical skills
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Strong knowledge and experience preparing RFP and other bid documents.
• Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain best practices
• Strong negotiation skills and experience
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and procurement software
• Ability to plan, prioritize, resolve conflict, negotiate, and keep initiatives moving forward

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

• 7 – 10 years end to end procurement experience and warehouse management
• College degree with a specialization in Procurement, Supply Chain Management and Logistics

LOCATION

This position will initially be based in Oakville, Ontario or working from home with travel to Oakville for approximately 6 – 12 months then relocated to Greenstone, Ontario.
