Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparation of the Life of Mine cash flow models, coordinating between operations and Finance.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets, and ensure compliance with internal and external policies
  • Assist individual budget owners with the preparation of budget/forecast, providing necessary guidance during the process
  • Assume a lead role in Financial Systems usage.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within the business, leading all mine-related analysis included in internal management and external financial reporting, and assisting the governance around capital expenditure reporting.
  • Conduct process analyses, collaborating with subject matter experts within our client while bringing fresh ideas to the table to optimize ways of working.
  • Contribute to the quarterly conference calls with the mines.
  • Involvement in month/quarter/year end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation and analysis, and reporting. Quarterly Operations Performance Reporting
  • Lead the preparation of the operations narrative and performance metrics in the Quarterly MD&A
  • Liaise with the mine site finance team, the corporate external reporting team and senior management.
  • Monitor monthly actual performance against consolidated operating, capital and cash flow forecast and budgets and alert management to any material trends on a timely basis.
  • Provide analysis and support with new ERP implementation
  • Provide summaries of actual to budget variances and assist the Director, Finance in the preparation of reports/presentations for both management and the Board of Directors.
  • Respond to queries by auditors and prepare schedule/analysis requested by the auditors.
  • Work with the Manager of Operations Finance to develop and implement consolidated operating, capital and cash flow budgets and forecasts.
Skills & Experience
  • CPA designation plus 5-8 yrs experience in a blend of corporate and mining operations environments.
  • Deadline and Detail focused.
  • Hands-on and willing to take on a wide swath of tasks.
  • Inquisitive, objective and not satisfied with the status quo.
  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Some exposure to Dynamics 365 an asset.
