Description

Responsible for all aspects of the global Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Program. Drive company-wide preparedness activities for all corporate and site functions. Collaborate with site General Managers, Department Heads, Health & Safety, Enterprise Risk Management, Cybersecurity, and other functions to drive engagement and commitment. Establish standards, provide training, advise on plans, coordinate workshops and exercises, facilitate major incident responses, and establish metrics reporting. Increase program maturity.
  • Responsible for global Business Continuity Planning including strategy, plans, risk confirmation, documentation, and reporting in the following areas:
  • Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
  • Crisis Management Plans (CMP) in conjunction with Health & Safety (H&S) at the sites & at the Corporate office
  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  • Partner with the global site GM's, Department Heads, and their representatives to identify risks, prioritize critical business processes, and create/maintain continuity plans. Coordinate with H&S, Admin Services, Cybersecurity, Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Risk Mgmt and other functions to deliver holistic plans. Assist in creating and maintaining recovery strategies through continuous risk assessments.
  • Drive cross-functional engagement within the BC program at Corporate and global sites. Gain commitment from business functions to ensure resources are available for all required BC activities. Create strong formal and informal networks with cross functional partners to drive engagement and program sustainability
  • Develop policies, procedures, templates, standards, and communication plans. Conduct plan development, training, and tabletop/exercise workshops with global business units to raise business continuity awareness and increase preparedness for crisis or disaster.
  • Facilitate and coordinate responses in the event of major business disruptions.
  • Define and monitor global metrics to show achievement of business continuity KPI's. Implement periodic audits and program health and maturity reporting to ensure compliance and preparedness.
  • Be familiar with the latest BC trends and technological advancements. Implement continuous improvements.
  • Perform other duties as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, AND eight (8) years of experience in managing, developing and executing Business Continuity strategies; OR
  • Associate's degree, AND ten (10) years of experience managing, developing and executing Business Continuity strategies; OR
  • High School Diploma or GED (equivalent), AND twelve (12) years of experience managing, developing and executing Business Continuity stragegies
  • Strong relationship building and influence skills
  • Must have superior interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and influence competencies, as well as the ability to function at all levels of an organization
  • Must demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and self-directed work


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing cross-functional projects.
  • Deep understanding of Freeport's business functions.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining business continuity and/or disaster recovery programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business continuity or related discipline.
  • Experience completing business continuity and/or disaster recovery testing exercises.
  • Experience managing IT programs/projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate program goals, value obstacles and priorities across the business to gain the right level of participation and input from key areas
  • PMI, Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity certifications - could include DRII Certified Business Continuity Professional, CBCP or Master Certified Business Continuity Professional (MBCP)


Criteria/Conditions
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Periodic travel to the sites and to the Corporate office may be required
  • Work is mostly performed in an office setting
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws


Freeport-McMoRan has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs require employees to perform essential job functions that pose a direct threat to the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others.   • Site-based positions, or positions which require unescorted access to site-based operational areas, which are held by employees who are required to receive MSHA, OSHA, DOT, HAZWOPER and/or Hazard Recognition Training; or
  • Positions which are held by employees who operate equipment, machinery or motor vehicles in furtherance of performing the essential functions of their job duties, including operating motor vehicles while on Company business or travel (for this purpose "motor vehicles" includes Company owned or leased motor vehicles and personal motor vehicles used by employees in furtherance of Company business or while on Company travel); or
  • Positions which Freeport-McMoRan has designated as safety sensitive positions in the applicable job or position description and which upon further review continue to be designated as safety-sensitive based on an individualized assessment of the actual duties performed by a specifically identified employee.
