ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine General Supervisor, the Mine Administrative Assistant is part of the Mine Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. The incumbent plays an important part in the documentation and reporting administration on the project site. She/He will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Generate inventory item requests and direct order requests in JDE;
  • Prepare end of month accruals and validate cost allocation to designated business accounts, as well as prepare cost transfer request forms;
  • Process and validate various invoices received from contractors and suppliers to obtain approval from the department heads;
  • Ensure time entries are correct and respect payroll guidelines and policies in accordance with the Mine Supervisors and Mine General Supervisors;
  • Conduct Mine Bonus calculations, prepare necessary documentation, and issue final statements;
  • Maintain various KPI reports (mine production, costs, safety, etc.);
  • Generate costs and production data analysis and reports requested by the Mine General Supervisors and Mine Superintendent;
  • Ensure mine workers schedules and flights are kept up-to-date in our FLO and Centric systems;
  • Maintain information and generate multiple reports in the Centric mining production database;
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports;
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of various work management processes of the Mine Department.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration or related field;
  • 5- 8 years of experience in an administrative role required;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Knowledge of JDE, Docusphere and Centric database software is an asset;
  • Must have a strong sense of organization/planning and process optimization/standardization.
  • The ability to work in a fast-pace environment, strong attention to detail, ability to handle a large volume of information;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 5 days of work, followed by 2 days of rest; position is based out of Val d'Or or Mirabel, Quebec. Occasional visits to site.
