Senior Mining Engineer - Medium Term Planning
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
Key accountabilities will include:
- Coordinate input parameters, develop, report and present the annual budget plan & quarterly 2 year reforecast mine plans
- Continually develop and refine the 2-year mine planning systems so it delivers value
- Complete cut-off grade and grade bins optimization
- Complete analysis, reconciliations and present recommendations for mine planning inputs such as equipment productivity
- Contribute to the site bench operating plan
- Develop or coordinate designs as required for the 2-year planning
- Understand and communicate risk and opportunities, drivers and levers for optimizing the 2-year mine plan
- Safety leadership to provide safe system of work, processes and tools to crew members
- Developing and mentoring colleagues within the team
Qualifications and skills required:
- Mining Engineering or similar
- Expected to have at least 7 years of experience of large, deep open pit hard-rock mining operations including short to medium term mine planning
- Highly skilled in use of Alastri suite of mine planning software's and General Mine Design Packages (Vulcan preferred)
- Understanding of interrelated disciplines including geotechnical, surface and ground water, environmental, heritage, approvals, processing, geology and D&B.
- Excellent time management, organizational, analytical and project management skills
- Strong sense of integrity, enthusiasm and problem solving
- Able to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels technical knowledge
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power BI etc.) & data analytics tools (Tableau)
- Excellent computer literacy skills and knowledge such as databases, programming and collaborative tools (Microsoft Power Apps)
