Downer continues to be an innovator in the sustainable asphalt industry, running plants that use recyclable products and environmentally sustainable methods

Due to continued business growth we are seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to oversee and manage the requirements of our Asphalt Laboratories. Based in Somerton or Bayswater this role will strive for innovation and system improvement while ensuring sufficient resources are available, reporting time-frames are met and testing and equipment integrity operate at a continued high standard.

ABOUT YOU

You will possess experience gained within a similar role together with a Cert 4 in Laboratory Technology or higher, together with;

• Demonstrable experience working in and/or supervising in a laboratory environment ideally gained within the asphalt industry or construction materials testing
• Day to Day coordination of employees assigned to respective depot/tasks
• Liaise with VicRoads regarding audits and ensure actions are implemented
• Response to all NATA audits and ensure actions are implemented
• Weekly review of test results and adjust plant mix design sheets as required and advise plant operators of any changes or trending results
• Ensure laboratory calibrations are up to date and conduct audits on laboratory systems
• Confirm reports dispatched in accordance with Vicroads time lines
• Good understanding of statutory legislation, OH&S and quality systems within a laboratory environment
• Strong safety focus - actively participate in and support Downer Zero Harm initiatives and strategies
