The Opportunity:
Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has new exciting opportunity for a Mine Foreman at the Red Chris Mine in northern British Columbia.

Working a rotation of 14-shifts on and 14-shifts off, this position is fly-in/fly-out.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while being accountable for overseeing the work assignments of underground crews to reach production targets safely and efficiently.

More specifically, the Mine Foreman will:
  • Promote safe work practices while leading by example
  • Provide leadership that instills confidence and encourages teamwork
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental policies, regulations and law
  • Schedule and assign work of underground crews and mining equipment
  • Manage performance of direct reports to achieve safe production targets, crew attendance, productivity and quality of work goal
  • Discipline and recognize workers in a fair and consistent manner
  • Work closely with the Project Managers for the planning of cost effective production
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Foreman to maintain equipment reliability
  • Be open to learning new methods and be willing to share skills and knowledge with team members

Skills and Experience:
  • Technical diploma, degree or similar qualification in mine engineering
  • Over 10 years of underground mining experience desired
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervisory roles in underground mining
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, energetic
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
