Reporting to theMining EngineeringSupervisor, the incumbent is responsible for thestope designrelated to long hole drilling and blasting activities. He or she also carries out fieldinspections, plan layouts, data compilation and participates inthedecision-makingprocess.

DESCRIPTION

  • To ensureafollow-up of the differentactiveworkplacesspecific todrilling and blasting.
  • Review and approve thedrilling,blasting andmuckingplans as well as the design of the various barricades
  • Promotebestdrilling and blasting practicesare followedin order to control dilution and maximize mining recoveryduring stope extraction.
  • Performstope performanceanalyses.
  • Conductand reportdrillingand loadingquality controlundergroundvisits
  • Lead drill & blast continuous improvement projects
  • Respect, know and promote the company's regulations and policies, particularly in the area of health and safety.
  • All tasks related to the performance of his/her duties.
  • Schedule :14days of work followed by14days off


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering
  • Between 3 to5 years' pertinent experience in an underground mine
  • Practical experience in drill & blast considered an asset
  • Valid explosives permit
  • Mining modules (F.M.T.M. 1 to 5, and 7)
  • Strongcomputer skills, includingDeswikand Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
