We are looking for an Kindergarten Teacher to be a part of our Cape Kids Childcare Centre. This service provides a quality educational experience to young children to which encourages expression of their own ideas through play and learning. The centre is uniquely owned and operated by a global mining company.

This is a great opportunity for a Qualified Educator to work on a rotating roster, and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned rooms, including providing leadership and support to educators and staff within your team. Reporting to the Director Cape Kids in a collaborative community, you will be:

  • Adhering to the centre's philosophy and ensuring it is being reflected in the day to day practice with the team and at the centre;

What you will bring
  • A commitment to high quality outcomes for children
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and/or
  • Degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University (Preferred)
  • Current Working with Children Card (Blue Card)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong interpersonal
  • Understanding of the Early education and Care Regulations, National Quality Framework and The Early Years Learning Framework
  • Previous experience working hands-on in a Centre (Preferred)

Weipa - Rio Tinto Weipa is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years. Over the years, it has developed into a vibrant and diverse cultural hub of the Western Cape. Weipa offers a coastal community rich in geographical beauty and cultural heritage that provides families with opportunities to participate in leisure activities, sports and community events. With a strong sense of community, the region has plenty of natural beauty to offer including the opportunities for boating, fishing, camping and exploring. Construction of the Amrun mining operation, located 40 kilometres southwest of Weipa, was completed in late 2018 expanding our bauxite operations to continue production from one of the world's premier bauxite deposits.
