We are looking for a Superintendent Metals Electrical Systems to lead a team focused on the performance of the electrical distribution, control systems, and instrumentation of an industrial facility.

This role is a great opportunity to implement your leadership skills while focusing on safe electrical work practices and sound engineering principle. This role will work closely with the Smelter and Refinery personnel to help achieve targets and ensure communication is clear between departments and stakeholders. Reporting to the Manager Electrical Systems, Data, Technology and Automation, you will be:
  • Keeping a focus on electrical safety through coaching, audits, and visibly setting the standard for procedural compliance, critical risk management and hazard identification.
  • Leading a motivated team of professional electrical engineers and technicians.
  • Working to improve the reliability of the power distribution, control, and instrumentation systems.
  • Communicating with project delivery teams so that new systems are integrated in accordance with plant practices and standards.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to drive continuous safety, process, and cost improvements for the business.
  • Consulting as the onsite subject matter experts for the power distribution, controls, and instrumentation systems.

What you'll bring

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ year's practical experience in the electrical field.
  • 5+ years of proven leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of monitoring and maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and experience overseeing a safety program.
  • Ability to work in multi-functional and multi-disciplinary teams and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEEE, OSHA, and NFPA regulations relating to safe work, electrical installations, and maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Emerson Control System hardware and software
  • Knowledge of Power Generation, Distribution, and Utilization equipment
  • Knowledge of different measuring methods for pressure, flow, temperature, density, and weight for industrial applications
