Summary

The person in this position is responsible for all aspects of Barr’s offices, facilities, related staff, and systems that support general operation across our 10 established offices. In collaboration with company leaders, the this person will lead and manage staff, ad hoc teams, and contracted service providers to plan, design, construct, operate, maintain, and repair Barr’s physical facilities and provide services to support the organization. This person is responsible for ensuring that the company’s physical facilities and office services enable competitive differentiation, client service, staff satisfaction and loyalty, business continuity, safety, security, and efficiency. This is a full-time role reporting to the chief operating officer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, property management, real estate, business administration, or related field
  • 10 years of experience demonstrating growth of responsibilities in facilities or office management leadership roles
  • Experience managing multiple operating locations concurrently
  • Project management experience in commercial office construction environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong desktop technology skills, including schedules, flowcharts, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools in Microsoft 365
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to prepare budgets and cost estimates
  • Patience and resilience in dealing with competing demands from stakeholders
  • Demonstrated good judgment and decision making, including ability to deal with uncertainty and manage risk
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build and lead teams
  • Strong coaching, supervisory, and people skills
  • Solid strategic and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to travel internationally, primarily between the U.S. and Canada
  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight to Barr office locations, potentially up to 10% annually
  • Flexibility to respond to occasional off-hours situations
  • Capable of performing physical activity, including regularly lifting moderate weight (up to 40 pounds), bending, climbing, and performing safely in an office construction environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in related area
  • Active participation in a relevant professional organization
