Building on our already diverse employment and training opportunities, we are pleased to announce the launch of a Chef Apprenticeship.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience and training as a chef with one of the biggest Iron Ore producers. You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in your trade as well as being part of the Fortescue Family. At the end of your 3 years' training, you will attain a Certificate III in Commercial Cooking.
Be one of the first Apprentice Chefs for this exciting programme and become one of the first FMG mining Chefs!

The Opportunity
- 3 years fixed term apprenticeship offered on a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) basis
- Formal on-the-job training at one of Fortescue's operational sites
- Completion of nationally recognised Certificate III Commercial Cooking
- Opportunity for permanent roles at Apprenticeship completion
- Experience gained with one of Australia's largest employers
About you:
- Must have a passion for cooking
- Willingness to learn, develop and to complete 25 Cookery units over 3 years
- The ability to work in remote locations on a 14 days, 7 off, FIFO roster
- Strong emphasis on Safety
- Must be team orientated
- External training will be required to have excellent knowledge on Food Safety
- Completed Year 10 with satisfactory grades in Maths and Science
