This position is located at the Henderson Mine site, located 9 miles West of Empire, CO off US-40 (GPS Coordinates: 39.770645, -105.811606), an 1 hour from the Denver metropolitan area The mine is in an underground operation, with the surface setting at an elevation of 10,300 feet above sea level. The underground environment maintains a an average temperature of 60 degrees however may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles. At the Surface, in the winter the average high temperature is 28 degrees and the average low is 0 degrees. In the summer the average high temperature is 75 degrees and the average low is 40 degrees. The average snowfall in Clear Creek/Grand counties is in excess of 200 inches per year.

Description

Highly skilled mechanic who safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, installation and repair of crush and conveying equipment and related systems.

  • Perform system troubleshooting, maintenance and component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems, mobile conveying systems, etc.
  • Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, oil levels and lubrication systems
  • Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections
  • Train and mentor other employees
  • Perform advanced welding and fabrication
  • May operate mobile equipment such as: Forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks
  • Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required
  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years ofexperience in Crush/Convey or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Must have completed academic and competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees), and have experience demonstrating required mechanical aptitude. Selected candidate shall demonstrate ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.


Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Crusher Maintenance experience.
  • Transfer Chute experience including liner and scraper changes.
  • Rail equipment, tunnel experience.
  • Rail equipment repair maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems for Crusher, Lube Room, Reclaim and Transfer Stations.

  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spaces
  • Occasionally may be asked required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Pay Range :

$30.90-$37.00/hourly
