About the role

The ERA Superintendent Site Services leads a team of 7 to provide town, village, bus and accommodation booking, aerodrome, site services, warehouse and inventory management to the Ranger Rehabilitation Project and Jabiru township.

The management of the town and village services are facilitated through a long-term contract partnership, with the facilities team supporting to maintain alignment and quality across the portfolio. The village services 169 rooms for non-residential workers. The town services include property management of more than 100 residential premises in the town of Jabiru.

The scope of work we do is challenging and diverse. Your demonstrated ability to engage, connect and positively influence key stakeholders at all organizational levels will play a critical part to the effectiveness in this role. This position is truly collaborative where you will work alongside our contract partners to build maturity as well as heavily interfacing with the closure leadership team to continue to drive improved outcomes.

You will provide leadership, development and support to a dedicated team; enabling them to effectively manage and coach the relevant service provider and ensuring those who use the facilities have a comfortable and safe experience.

What you'll bring
  • Proactive with a strong commitment in driving a safe working culture
  • You will have solid experience working in project leadership roles and be confident in effectively leading, mentoring and coaching team members as well as interfacing with senior leaders.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance / hospitality management (for managing the village)
  • Experience in property / building maintenance (for managing the residential property portfolio)
  • Strong understanding of contracts and commercial concepts
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven track record of delivering outcomes
  • You will have well developed stakeholder engagement, leadership and facilitation skills
  • You have experience working in collaborative partnerships
  • You are flexible and ready to perform work that is outside the normal role scope.

It will also be beneficial if you have
  • Front line management or other relevant leadership development qualifications
  • REINT property management qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of aerodrome operations, including CASA compliance and regulations
  • SAP and/or Business Warehouse experience would be highly regarded

Where you'll be working

Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto its major shareholder. ERA has mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory since 1980. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, and is surrounded by, but separate from Kakadu National Park.

ERA ceased mining and processing activities in the Ranger Project Area in January 2021. Under the Ranger Authority, final rehabilitation is required to be completed by January 2026. The Ranger Mine Closure Project rehabilitates the Ranger Project Area to a standard whereby it could be incorporated into the Kakadu National Park. The role is either Darwin based on a Bus in Bus out arrangement between Ranger Mine and Darwin, or locally based residential in Jabiru. Subsidised housing arrangements for Jabiru residents will be included.
