We are looking for a Principal Automation Delivery and Technical Assurance to deliver world-class digital support and automation initiatives along with embedding current mining technology across our integrated portfolio of iron ore assets.

This is a great opportunity for a technical leader with great communication skills to lead a team. You will be joining an experienced, stable and knowledgeable team of heavy mobile equipment (HME) and mining technology subject matter experts whose expertise spans HME delivery, systems engineering, mining technology and automation delivery.

Reporting to the Manager Heavy Mobile Equipment & Technology, you will be:
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve quality, safety, productivity and reduce variability and cost within the region via decision automation and decision support (AI, machine learning and operational data analysis - digital transformation)
  • Developing and maintaining the automation (decision support and automation) roadmap and strategy by regularly engaging with each of our iron ore sites, predominantly site production engineers, mobile equipment maintenance managers and mine managers to assist in problem-solving
  • Performing data analytics to develop cost-effective, operable, maintainable and supportable decision solutions that address business problems
  • Undertaking POC's (proof of concepts to prove the early value of decision automation and decision support initiatives), secures capital approval to deploy across other sites
  • Sharing learnings within iron ore sites to lift overall technology performance and safely deploy new technologies and upgrades
  • Accountable for running the operational and system acceptance tests of the mining technologies deployed and operational readiness aspects

Where you'll be working

Working Monday to Friday, you can base yourself at our state-of-the-art operations centre in Belmont and/or head office in Perth CBD with the option to work remotely (from home). There will also be a requirement to travel to our iron ore sites from time to time.
