We are looking for a Senior Manager Commercial North America to be an integral part of our Americas region. This role will directly report into the Head of Exploration Commercial but will have a strong linkage into the Exploration Director Americas. The role will be part of a highly commercial, global team of professionals and is ultimately responsible for driving the end-to-end exploration deal flow and devising appropriate commercial entry and exit strategies. Deal flow spans simple earn-ins to complex joint ventures, and you will be expected to navigate across all key workstreams (community, legal, land-title, tax, economic) to secure investable terms for the RT Group.

This is a highly autonomous role that will see the successful individual at the forefront of driving the growth agenda in their region. You will be:
  • Screening opportunities - Assisting technical teams in the screening and evaluation of opportunities as well as putting together the commercial entry and exit strategy. You will also working in close collaboration with business analysis teams to develop financial evaluation models.
  • Leading and closing commercial negotiations being at the forefront of negotiations in combination with technical experts and managing key legal workstreams for drafting of agreements.
  • The commercial face in your region expected to be building and leveraging your networks.
  • Sharing and seeking out knowledge, best practices and resources across the group and in the mining industry generally and developing a network of internal and external capabilities

What you'll bring
  • Fluent English skills. Other languages highly regarded, but not critical - Spanish, French & Portuguese.
  • Multi commodity/resource experience highly valued
  • Substantial experience in a similar role:
    • Background or significant experience in commercial field - investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, strategy
    • Ability to lead complex negotiations and interact with internal legal, tax and other key support workstreams.
    • Ability to understand key business case drivers and succinctly package these up to support deals.
  • Significant international exposure with ability to travel
  • Fast paced and energetic approach
  • Collaborative work style with strong communication& presentation skills & an ability to work closely with a diverse team of multi-skilled individual
