Financial Analyst - Technical Services Group
Reporting to: Sr. Long Range Planning Engineer - Stillwater Mine
Location : Columbus, MT
POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the Chief Engineer or their designated Senior Engineer that oversees Cost engineering. The primary responsibility of the financial analyst is to support the Engineering Department with the formation of the annual budget, support monthly weekly/monthly reporting efforts, assist the Engineering and mine management groups on understanding costs, and lead the QA/QC efforts on the site budgeting process. This position will work closely with the Accounting department but is fundamentally separate from that group and its responsibilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or equivalent.
Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint.
Knowledge of JDEdwards systems; cost and financial.
Leadership qualities including character, teamwork, communication, business sense, and vision
Proven ability to work autonomously, as well as, within a team-based environment.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Five + years accounting/cost engineering experience.
Knowledge of Xeras
Experience with Zero Based Budgeting Principles.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot multiple data streams in a spreadsheet-based environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide support with developing yearly Budgets, utilizing the Xeras software and spreadsheets.
- Assist mine departments in developing their portions of the yearly budget.
- Develop and track Site Capital budgets and forecasts.
- Assist mine departments and General Foreman with developing ownership of department financials.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
- Analyze mine cost trends and communicate these to departments and management.
- Lead in creating and maintaining QA/QC efforts on the budgeting process.
- Take ownership of the budgeting/reporting process in regard to Business Improvement efforts.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor.
