We are now seeking expression of interest from current Newcrest staff in the position of Trainer and Assessor / Learning Support Teacher [Part Time] at Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

We are seeking for a Trainer and Assessor / Learning Support Teacher [Part Time] at Lihir International School / School to Mine. This role will support the Work Ready Program and provide Learning Support to identified students in consultation with class teachers. Likewise, assist local trainers in educating and preparing Lihirian students for work in the business.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment. Certificate in Learning Support (Teacher Aide)
  • Certificate in Frist Aid (desirable)
  • Experience in Training and Assessing and Learning Support at a variety of levels is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country advantageous, but not essential.
  • Willingness to be involved in extracurricular activities.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously from time to time.
  • High attention to detail with good time management skills.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills.


Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Must be open to move to the Lihir, PNG as this is a Residential role.
  • Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
