Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Team Leader, the purpose of this role is to provide maintenance support to the operations by repairing and maintaining diesel heavy equipment

Main tasks and responsibilities
 

• Excellent technical knowledge and skills, including a broad understanding of mobile maintenance concepts
• Able to train and work with other diesel technicians
• Competent in directing peers on maintaining safety and health regulations
• Perform major component rebuilds as required
• Perform calibrations and alignments as required per manufacturer’s documentation
• Able to operate all diesel equipment, simulating normal mining activity, for fault evaluation
• Able to generate repair notes and documentation on all jobs for fault tracking
• Perform 1000-hour service PM on all diesel equipment
• Ability to read, train and troubleshoot on hydraulic, electrical, and other systems
• Basic knowledge and awareness of high voltage safety
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a “team-oriented” approach to the achievement of tasks
• Proficiency in relevant software
• Other skills as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of experience in maintenance, within a mining, construction, or OEM environment, and/or diploma from accredited Trade School
• Able to troubleshoot equipment based on operator reports 
• Able to identify part numbers using equipment parts books
• Comprehensive knowledge, or willingness to learn, Mines Regulations
• Sandvik Drills, Bolters, Trucks and Loader Training
• Volvo, Cummings, Deutz OEM training, troubleshooting and Diagnostic
• Advanced Electrical L/voltage
• Advanced Hydraulics.

General Skills

• Welding Training
• Caterpillar/other sampling analysis 
• Service report writing and JSA’s writing
• Train the Trainer or CAT5
• Preferred:  SAP, Microsoft office applications experience
