Wood is currently recruiting for a CAD Administrator for our Mining & Minerals office in Bryanston.
Main Purpose of the Role:
- To maintain and implement the company preferred Engineering systems and workflows
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and database problems
- Develop and maintain system standards and libraries in conjunction with other system administrators
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of CAD-build and intelligent libraries within the engineering system
- Assist design office users with intelligent system solutions and ensure optimal user of system, including training and induction
- Contribute to the long-term strategic development plan for engineering systems and related design engineering applications.
- Ensure that engineering systems are capable of delivering on all client standards
- Install, commission and implement engineering system related software.
- Attend meetings as required and provide advice on ways to optimise engineering systems.
- Ensure that all system development and customisation is to company standards and procedures
- Provide advice to Project Managers on the most efficient use of engineering systems to meet project deliverables.
- Ensure that the correct engineering systems are deployed and used on projects.
- Ensure the integrity of interfacing of engineering systems with other functions, such as materials management, document control and project controls, is maintained
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Programming language qualifications and experience for example VBA, C#, SQL, etc.
- Relevant design qualifications would be an advantage
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- 5 years CAD administrator experience working within a BIM or database-driven CAD environment
- Proven computer skills and knowledge of CAD applications, relational databases, and spreadsheets.
- Experience and proficiency with AVEVA suite of applications is a distinctive advantage
- Experience with intelligent P&ID applications is an advantage
- 2 - 5 years' experience in engineering design and modelling within either mechanical, piping, or structural disciplines
- Proven experience with catalogue libraries and installation standards for piping, piping fittings, valves, and field instruments
- Experience in Microsoft Windows, and local and wide area networking environments
- A proven ability to translate client and company requirements into CAD system and engineering work practices
- Understanding the importance of database-driven, integrated design systems and flow of engineering information on industrial projects
