The Project Engineer will assist with project oversight and management as a member of the project team for the of the Goldrush Mine. This will include, but not be limited to Design, Safety and Environmental Oversight, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Documentation, Scheduling, Forecasting, Operations Interface, Construction Oversight, Procurement of Supplies, and Contractor Management.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, review and revise forecasts, schedules, and budgets of different projects
• Liaison with all departmental contacts as required to gain input when needed, and effectively communicate the status of project activity routinely through scheduled project reviews/reports.
• Manage and oversee contractor work from all aspects including safety, environmental compliance, work quality, cost, etc.
• Procure parts and materials to maintain project advancement.
• Conducting routine inspections of the surface and/or underground work areas to perform quality control and identify and rectify any issues that may affect the achievement of scheduled targets with respect to both safety and scheduling.
• Participates in improving techniques for estimating, planning, and cost control.
• To provide technical support and advice for contract scope development, tender and award activities.
• Assist in the preparation of all designs, plans, drawings, and other relevant instructions required for the execution of the project
• Ensure compliance with all project management systems including:
• Document control integrity
• Contractor management
• Scope change control
• Ensuring important deadlines are met and budget constraints are adhered to.
• Communicating and interacting with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that outcomes are satisfactorily delivered, and objectives are met.

Qualifications:

• 4-year bachelor's degree in Mine, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related fields Required
• 0-3 years Mining or Project Management experience Required
• Underground experience Preferred
• Experience in vent raises, underground construction, roads, and/or pipeline construction Preferred
• Demonstrated Safety Leadership for both self and a team
• Ability to read, review and understand construction drawings
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Knowledge of data collection and reporting
• Familiarity Microsoft Project or/and Primaveras-6 scheduling software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Vulcan and/or Deswik, Construction Drawings, and the Construction Process

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.
