Heavy Diesel Fitter

  • $60 flat rate
  • Permanent position includes leave entitlements.
  • 12 hour shifts (5:4, 4:5 roster)

About the Role
WorkPac are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our Clients Maintenance team based on a Mine site in the Werris Creek basin.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Fitter is accountable for performing maintenance and repairs to mobile equipment with minimum supervision to achieve production targets. Your role will be to:

  • Complete planned, unplanned and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance to OH&S standards
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance for mobile equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and raise job requests on any defective parts/components found.
  • Carry out assigned work orders.
  • Ensure that all incidents, accidents and hazards are reported and are followed up correctly to minimise and manage risk.
  • Maintain a high work output level, and provide assistance where required.

Skills and Experience
  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification
  • Driver's Licence
  • Work at heights (desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Relevant mobile plant licences (desirable)
  • Diesel mechanical trade experience with Hitachi and CAT earth moving equipment.
