Description

Under very limited supervision, designs, organizes, manages, coordinates and controls the installation, enhancement, maintenance and repair of access control, video security infrastructure, fire and burglary alarm integrations, vehicle traffic control gates and infrastructure, ensuring that specific solution designs meet functional objectives and conform with corporate standards. Oversees the daily operation of the global access control and video security systems and teams that support site components. Manages the monitoring of access control and video security infrastructure to ensure issues are quickly addressed to maintain availability and ensure that site physical security and safety imperatives are met. Act as the escalation point for various groups within MIS, site safety and site security teams regarding access control and video security issues. Ensures standards and processes are established and adhered to regarding the management, replacement and upgrades needed for access control and video security infrastructure. Engages with Site and Corporate MIS management to roll out corporate strategies and ensure alignment across the enterprise.
  • Designs, develops and documents, physical security infrastructure needed to effectively secure and monitor important assets and enhance the safety of employees and contractors while ensuring business imperatives are facilitated. . Identifies and recommends new technology and systems needed to enhance Freeports security posture. Assists in preparation of the global access control and video security budgets at the corporate and site levels.
  • Manages Freeports business relationships with integrators and vendors needed to purchase and install security hardware and software. Manage internal teams and eternal contractors needed to install and maintain security infrastructure, delivers project implementations on-time and on-budget while ensuring success in terms of functionality and operational objectives. Assign and review work, train Freeport personal and evaluate performance of subordinates, may counsel and discipline subordinates, approve leave.
  • Contribute in-depth expertise to the organization's current and future technology needs. Set direction and lead improvements of techniques, methodologies and deliverables. Collaborate with other IS teams and outsourcing provider(s) to ensure technology solutions are effectively implemented, managed and administered.
  • Provides for the definition and review of monitoring systems and reports to ensure all services are completely and successfully delivered. Proactively intervenes to correct problems when they are encountered. Determine and review metrics to improve processes. Communicates systems results, status's to senior MIS and site leadership and recommends new processes and technologies to address deficiencies and process improvements.
  • Manages the daily operations of the global access control and video security systems such as Lenel OnGuard, Milestone XProtect, and assists global company sites in the troubleshooting of site infrastructure as well as integrated systems.
  • Ensure a thorough analysis of service results and respond to any escalated service delivery issues. Audits and reviews access control and video security performance and compliance. Monitors for all key metrics and systems security.
  • Lead and assist in trouble incident remediation and repair. Keep stakeholders current on active issues.
  • Perform other duties as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED; AND nine (9) years of experience with information technology applications, including at least five (5) years of experience in physical security systems and security software
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, and at least five (5) years of experience in physical security systems and security software
  • Experience with Low voltage systems, defined as 50 volts (V) or less, include telecom/IT network infrastructure, security systems, audio-visual systems, dynamic signage, and other systems associated with the IT network, namely building management systems (BMS) and possibly lighting control systems.
  • Must have knowledge of UL, NFPA, NEC, and building standards.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of construction and electrical wiring, as well as a strong comprehension of Blueprints.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure systems and components design and support concepts.
  • Lenel Certified Associate (LCA) - Entry-level certification representing foundational knowledge of the basic implementation of a Lenel electronic security system.
  • Axis Certified Professional - Axis Certified Professionals are highly regarded by their peers and colleagues for their competence. They are recognized by system architects and consultants who are specifying Axis Certified Professionals in large projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field, AND
  • Ten 10 years of experience in physical security and video surveillance industry
  • Proven skills in access control and video security infrastructure design and/or support concepts
  • A demonstrated proficiency in network-based systems is preferred.
  • Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) - in either "Access", "Database" or "Intrusion". Represents advanced knowledge in at least one of the content-specific concentration areas.
  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) - Globally recognized as the standard of excellence for security management professionals.

Criteria/Conditions:
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator. Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plan setting.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws.
