Hatch’s industrial clients across all operating sectors (metals and mining, infrastructure and energy) are in the process of digitally transforming their businesses. Fundamental elements of this transformation relate to the application of new digital technologies to enable new ways of work based on Integrated Operations, Digital Value Chains, Automation and Autonomy, Asset Intelligence, Operational Intelligence and Advanced Planning and Scheduling.

As the successful candidate, you will:
Hatch is looking for an experienced project manager with expertise in the delivery of OT/IT systems projects and upgrades in heavy industry. This will require:

• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in heavy chemicals, mineral processing plant projects for an Owner, Supplier or an EPCM, with at least 10 years’ Lead experience in OT Projects;
• Minimum of one brownfield OT/IT integration project design and delivery experience with an OT/IT component value over US$30M+; and
• At least one previous Program Management experience on a global program with L0 to L4 disciplines integration at Project Lead levels, and with a complete accountability for time, budgets, quality and delivery
• Strong understanding of Instrumentation, Process controls, Programmable Logic Controller, Distributed Control Systems and Communication Networks (Wired & Wireless) fundamentals along with brown fields plant commissioning experience is essential;
• Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems and IT Systems in terms of broadly knowing the elements involved and has the ability to absorb new information from experts and apply to the work will be favourable;
• Exposure to asset maintenance systems and/or philosophies in an operating plant advantageous
• Exposure to managing projects with a significant construction component with multiple interfaces and disciplines being integrated
• Management of all activities comprising a project and the internal / external project resources into a totally integrated, coordinated, safe and controlled effort to satisfy or exceed customer expectations.
• Responsibility for core activities across all phases of a project including overall site management, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover, and closeout.

The role will require periodic deployment to site in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa.

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical , Electronics, Control or Mechatronics Engineering (required);
• PMP certification (desirable)
• Six Sigma certified (desirable)
