We are looking for a Geoscientific System and Data Specialist (Exploration) to join our Data Transformation team to transform and deliver geoscientific data to the business.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders to provide advice and support on data transformation opportunities for the global exploration team. Reporting to the Principal Advisor, Data Transformation, you will be responsible for:
  • Developing, capturing and documenting technical requirements and specifications to support the delivery of data projects to the global exploration teams in the discovery process.
  • Developing and supporting standardised best practice approach for Data Transformation activities across all regions
  • Assessing stakeholder requirements and providing fit-for-purpose data solutions.
  • Managing partners as required to ensure projects are delivered to agreed requirements and to continually improve outcomes
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners
  • Utilising your time management skills to track and prioritise projects
  • Providing derived data products supporting the generation of data-based insights improve exploration success

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geosciences, Earth Science or Information Technology;
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including an ability to build relationships.
  • Background in delivering geoscientific data solutions and projects.
  • Passionate about dealing with a variety of sources and quality of data.
  • Sound analytical skills to identify business requirements, as well as to evaluate data solutions to address business needs.
  • The proven ability to work collaboratively with a range of senior leaders, professional and technical staff to achieve customer focused outcomes through the sharing of expertise, skills and technical capability
  • Desired technical skills in using GIS (Geographic Information System), databases (SQL) and other geological based systems
