About the role

We are looking for a SAP Specialist IT Risk and Controls to provide efficient and effective controls design and governance particularly within our ERP/SAP environment. A key function of the position is sustaining critical SOx controls across the Rio Tinto Business Solution. The role will assist to design, implement and maintain an effective framework of internal controls, risk and control assessment, application controls design and application controls review.

This role is a great opportunity for a team player with experience in domain enterprise applications and controls design and analysis in an SAP ERP environment.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Application Security, and working in a collaborative, exciting environment within our IS&T Operations team, you will:
  • Support the operation of controls monitoring processes within the risk and controls framework related to management and SOx compliance programme operated by the Risk & Controls team.
  • Consult and collaborate with solution design and governance teams in relation to controls design, governance considerations, project scoping, estimation and definitions.
  • Maintain Risk & Controls framework documents, guides, tools and training materials, and development of new guides and training materials as required.
  • Execute, test and embed risk controls framework for change and release delivery and special projects.
  • Identify critical constraints in effective controls delivery and identification of options.
  • Apply acquired technical experience guided by precedents to assist remediation.
  • Sustain effective relationships with IS&T & business process governance representatives, Rio Tinto Assurance teams, internal & external assurance providers
  • Facilitate activities related to management & SOX compliance programme where required between IS&T teams and partner teams for activities related to management and SOX compliance programme

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Systems controls experience in a SAP ERP environment
  • Demonstrated competencies in IT risk management, application controls, and IT general controls
  • Knowledge and skills in SOx compliance and internal audit preferable
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g. COBIT) and experience with use of GRC applications
  • Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised with high personal standards and integrity
  • Ability to work in highly deadline driven environment.
