About this role

The Supplier Risk Management Governance position will be support the Supplier Risk Management process and execution for Newmont globally. The Analyst will provide support with the ongoing implementation of Newmont's Supplier Risk Management framework and support Supply Chain initiatives where needed. They will be focused on helping Newmont reduce risk exposure and financial leakage when doing business with suppliers. This position will support the governance and data on ensuring all functional areas of Newmont are in compliance to the Supplier Risk Management framework, will govern the framework and all respective processes, and will raise non-compliant activities.

Your role will consist of

  • Support the Supplier Risk Management Governance Position with developing compliance remediation plans for all supplier risk management processes and enacting strategies to drive behaviors through targeted communications, managed escalation and training.
  • Support the Supplier Risk Management Governance Position with managing Newmont's Supply Chain and Supplier Risk e-tools, including optimization of the system and reporting capabilities where needed to support the business.
  • Undertake data analysis to support driving compliance in the proactive registration of suppliers to prequalification and prepare and where applicable issue reports outlining non-compliance for the functions and operations.
  • Develop reports and templates and undertake analysis on reports to measure key metrics for the functions and operations.
  • Support with the development and design of training materials and aides; and support with rolling out training across Newmont's various domestic and international sites.
  • Ensure all team documents used throughout the supplier lifecycle remain up-to-date and relevant. This will include but not be limited to templates, How-to Guides, Procedure Documents, Guidelines and Standards.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Knowledge:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (business, finance, accounting, supply chain, engineering, or similar)
  • Post graduate qualifications highly regarded

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' supply chain, risk management or internal audit/ assurance experience, with proven track record of using data to draw meaningful insights, solve problems and deliver strategic outcomes
  • Supply Chain/ Procurement understanding and background
  • Experience in the mining industry highly regarded

Skills and Abilities:
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytics skills
  • Strong experience using analytical methods and tools
  • Strong PC skills using MS office software
  • Competent with off-the-shelf analytical tools and software (eg MS Excel, Tableau, Tableau or similar desirable)
  • Self-directed requiring limited guidance
  • Communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deal with a large, complex set of internal stakeholders
  • Experience with SAP Ariba highly regarded


Working conditions and location

  • The position is preferably based in the Denver corporate office
  • Position will require travel to other domestic and international sites.
