We are recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join the team. This role is responsible for managing legal matters impacting our business upon referral from General Managers and the General Counsel and Company Secretary. Key duties of this role include negotiating, drafting and reviewing legal agreements with major mining and construction customers, providing legal advice to business stakeholders on a range of regulatory and contractual issues, managing and resolving complex disputes (including litigation) and acting as Company Secretary for WesTrac subsidiaries.

This is a full-time 12 month fixed term position based at our WA head office in South Guildford.

To be successful the following is required:

• Highly experienced as a qualified legal professional specialising in commercial, corporate, construction or mining law.
• In-house legal experience desirable, but not essential.
• Bachelor of Laws
• Admission to the Supreme Court of WA (or other Australian jurisdiction) and current practising certificate.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship skills
• A commercial mindset and sound judgement
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills in the provision of legal advice (written, verbal and interpersonal)
