The Role: Health & Safety Officer (Maules Creek, NSW)
The Health and Safety Officer is accountable for planning, coordinating, maintaining and enhancing health and safety systems and databases at Maules Creek Coal Mine. This position must also support the Health and Safety team in delivering objectives.
To be successful in the role you will:
Record HSEC incidents, hazards, Safety Interactions, WHS Committee meetings, risk assessments and management of change.
Notify key stakeholders of the above events.
Monitor and track action closure for the above events.
Record injury management case information.
Provide reports of the events entered into the system.

The Role: Health & Safety Officer (Maules Creek, NSW)
The Health and Safety Officer is accountable for planning, coordinating, maintaining and enhancing health and safety systems and databases at Maules Creek Coal Mine. This position must also support the Health and Safety team in delivering objectives.
To be successful in the role you will:
- Implement, maintain and improve a training database that is capable of identifying employees and contractor's current competencies and areas for development.
- Work collaboratively with WHC Group to ensure the compliance and on boarding database is operating effectively
- Establish, maintain and improve an incident management database. The incident management system includes the functionality to:
Record HSEC incidents, hazards, Safety Interactions, WHS Committee meetings, risk assessments and management of change.
Notify key stakeholders of the above events.
Monitor and track action closure for the above events.
Record injury management case information.
Provide reports of the events entered into the system.
- Manage and monitor the service provider of the training database to ensure the system is operating effectively.
- Liaise with Group HSEC Systems Coordinator on matters associated with the incident management system to ensure the system is operating effectively.
- Coordinate the monthly Health and Safety reporting and performance statistics and prepare Site Health and Safety report.
- Establish, maintain and improve a document control and record management systems/ databases. The document control database will manage the published HSEC documents, including Policies, Standards, Management Plans, Procedures, Forms, Guidelines and Records.
- Provide training and support to key personnel on the following:
Pegasus - Competency and Compliance Management System
INX - Incident Management System
Share Point - Document Control System
H&S Intranet
Chem-Alert - Hazardous Chemical database
Risk Management database.
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Advanced Return to Work Coordination (desirable)
- Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene (desirable)
- Previous experience in HSEC document control.
- Knowledge of WH&S legislation and statutory requirements in NSW.
- Experience working in a similar role in the mining industry.
- Full time, permanent position.
