Mechanical Engineering Technologist

This position is based out of our buildings and facilities division in Calgary, AB. 

As part of the Engineering, Design, and Project Management Division, the Calgary Building & Facilities group specializes in providing mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering solutions for all building types ranging from small commercial buildings, complex institutional buildings such as hospitals, universities, and laboratories, and transportation infrastructure.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Responsible to draft in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Microstation based on own design and designer’s direction;
• Perform routine calculations and design;
• Assist with the design of Design building mechanical systems for Buildings & Facilities, including all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. Sectors may include healthcare, transit, commercial, government, educational, & institutional facilities.
• Issue drawings and other documents to document control as directed/required.

What will you contribute?

• Experience in Revit MEP and AutoCAD drafting software is required;
• Experience in MicroStation is an asset;
• Knowledgeable in applicable codes and routine mechanical calculations as it relates to Buildings & Facilities.
• Be able to effectively communicate and coordinate with other members of a large team;
• Be proactive and take self-initiative;
• Have the ability to handle several tasks and projects at once;
• Fast learner, with the ability to adapt.
