Under the responsibility of the Technical Services Manager, the incumbent is called on to work on planning of underground work. The Engineering Superintendent must plan the development and extraction budget and see to compliance with costs and deadlines. He/she is responsible for all mining engineering files, in collaboration with the Engineering team.

Description

  • Manage all the activities of the Mining Engineering Department, such as short-term and medium-term planning, evaluation of mining reserves, ventilation, surveying, planning of drilling and blasting of long-hole stopes, paste-fill planning, etc.
  • Mine infrastructure engineering, ventilation, pumping, power network, compressed air, etc.
  • Liaise with the Long-term Planning team.
  • Manage the personnel, evaluate performance and see to employee development
  • Define the budget.
  • Respect, know and promote company regulations and policies, particularly with regard to health and safety.
  • Perform all other tasks related to the performance of the duties of the position.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a Mining Engineer.
  • Mining modules 1 to 5 and 7.
  • Valid general explosives permit
  • Bilingual
